I am a resident of Massachusetts and want to apply for an E-Card
Call 978-256-5521, option 1, for assistance. See our Borrowing Guidelines page for more information on eligibility.
Chelmsford business and property owners are eligible to apply for a library card in-person at our Borrower Services desk. Upon presentation of proof of ownership of a business or property within Chelmsford, we will issue you a library card.
Residents of towns whose libraries belong to the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC) should apply at your hometown library, for a card you can use at all 36 MVLC libraries. We will issue a temporary card for those without a library card from their hometown who visit our library; you will have thirty days to get a full card from your hometown library.
Residents of towns not part of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium may apply for a card in person. Please bring a photo ID and proof of current address.
Those without permanent housing may use the (free) “general delivery” service offered at the Chelmsford Post Office, as a permanent mailing address for purposes of getting a library card through Chelmsford. Alternatively, you may submit a form signed by Jen Melanson, the Town of Chelmsford’s Community Services Coordinator.
