MacKay Library Has a New Phone Number 978-256-5521 x6

The staff at the MacKay Library hosts a variety of book discussion groups. The Mystery Group has been meeting for 13 years. Novel Conversations evolved out of the Oprah Book Group that began in 1998.

 Mystery Group

Mystery Group meets on the
4th Wednesday of the month
at 6:45 PM

August 26, 2015
C. J. Box and Brian Freeman

September 23, 2015
Jussi Adler-Olsen and Steve Ulfeder

The Mystery Group picks two authors a month. Members read books by those authors and come prepared to discuss why they enjoyed these books (or why they did not like them.) Were earlier books better crafted than more recent ones? Have characters developed over the years? Do you get a true sense of the place where the story is set? What good Mystery books have people read recently?

The MacKay Library will have a variety of the featured authors' books available for loan in the month preceding each discussion.
Novel Conversations Book Group

This popular daytime book group meets on the first Friday of each month. Beginning in September 2015, this group will meet at the main Library. The Sept. meeting starts at noon.

Beginning Sept 2015 Novel Conversations will meet at the main library
