IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SUBMITT YOUR STORIES!

The Story Box Project

Drop Your Stories Here!
Do you have a story you would like to share with your community or with the greater world? The MacKay Library is joining The Story Box Project, which was founded by Kevin Cordi an Academic Storyteller at Ohio State University. We will be collecting your stories at the MacKay Library. The stories can come from almost anywhere; it could be a folk tale, a fairy tale, a true story, or a childhood memory. Here in Chelmsford we have had many
ice storm stories that you could share.

Our Story Box is on it's way to Amesbury,
but it is not too late to submitt your story
!
I will be happy to forward any additional stories I recieve.

Our Stories will then be packaged up and the Story Box will be sent off to Amesbury library in the region where they will collect stories and send it on to Burlington. I expect the Story Box to make it’s way back to Chelmsford early next year packed full of stories from all over New England. Drop your stories at the MacKay Library, or submit them through our online drop box. You could also mail them to MacKay Library, Story Box Project, 43 Newfield St, N.Chelmsford, MA. Please call if you need more information (978)256-5521 x135

The MacKay Library Mystery Group
will be hosting author Alfred Alcorn
Wednesday, June 24th at 6:45p.m.

Join us as we discuss his mystery series
Murders in the Museum of Man. Learn what inspires him, how the characters influence the stories and if he will give away any clues of what he will be writing next.

He grew up on a dairy farm in South Chelmsford, MA and later attended Harvard on a scholarship. As a journalist he worked for CBS, the Boston Herald Traveler, the Worcester Telegram, and the Montgomery Advertiser (Alabama). He also led natural history travel programs at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. He retired to write full time in 2001, and still leads guided trips to India, Africa and elsewhere. He has published six novels and currently lives in Belmont with his wife Sally.

We will be discussing his writings both process and product. Refreshments will be served after the program. For further information please contact Bonnie Rankin at 978-256-5521 M, W, F, E-mail Brankin@mvlc.org. This project is being funded through the Chelmsford Friends of the Library.
