Art @ the Library - August 2013
Chinese Brush Painting Group

The Chinese Brush Painting group was established in the spring of 2010. This group of mothers, who love to do Chinese brush paintings and studied with Professor Yifang Guo at the Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS), meets monthly to share their painting skills and knowledge. The group has exhibited their paintings successfully at the Boxborough Library and the Needham Library during the past two years.

The main themes of Chinese painting are landscape (mountains and rivers), birds and flowers, and figure painting. This exhibition focuses on the birds and flowers category. Some of these paintings were inspired by works by Zhan Xu, ManHeng Liu, and Baishi Qi. The exhibiting painters are Jianli Larson, Qin Guo, Yaping Ren, Julie Zhu and Ann Chen.
