Helen Moriarty

Helen Moriarty is the president of the Chelmsford Art Society. For many years she has been involved in presenting the Chelmsford Art Society 4th of July Art Festival and has received the Founders’ Award. The artist has exhibited with the Art Soceity in many art shows at the Adams Library and has read her poems at the Poetry Bash. She has also entered in many of the Library’s projects and has given a class there in Scratchboard Art.

Moriarty enjoys working in many media including acrylics and pen and ink. It was enlightening to research old time Chelmsford scenes, and try to bring the old time feeling of a scene to life. It was amazing to see what wonderful accomplishments the citizens had made without the modern conveniences.

A graduate of Tufts Univ. BA, and Boston Univ. MA, Helen has also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northeastern Univ. She has taken classes at the Decordova Museum, the Boston Museum Schools, and UMass at Lowell. She has taught art for many years in the Lowell School System.

Helen, currently produces the show “Happenings” on Chelmsford TeleMedia, Channel 8, where various shows of art and travel are featured. She also presents the “Mini Art Shows” on the Message Board on Chelmsford TeleMedia. The show also applears in Lowell and Billerica.
