Lucy has lived in Chelmsford for all 18 of her years and has enjoyed being homeschooled for the last 8 of them. In 2002, she entered the Chelmsford Winterfest Photography exhibit for the first time and has since entered and placed for the past nine years. Her photographs have won numerous other awards and have been exhibited at the Greater Lynn International Photography Salon, Ocean State International Photography Salon, Brush Art Gallery, Bedford Library and Westford PCA center. As a member of Nashoba Valley Photo Club, she has been awarded the Student Scholarship to the New England Camera Club Conference three times. She started her own freelance website and photography business in 2009 which has brought her to shoot many portraits, pets and events. Although Lucy currently works at Chelmsford Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant, her dream is to earn her living by doing what she loves- creating photographs that people enjoy. In her free time, she enjoys road trips, the great outdoors and... more photography.

Artist's Statement

My camera is an extension of my right arm, as much a part of me as my ability to see.
I have loved photography since I started taking photographs at the age of seven. Since then I have had no formal training or classes, instead learning by experiments and practice. I enjoy creating photographs from nature, architecture, portraits, patterns, macro, journalism, abstracts, animals, scenics, events and everyday life, but my greatest joy is the extraordinary capture of an ordinary subject. Occasionally an image will appear in my mind that inspires me to create that vision in a photograph for others to see. The challenge of creatively capturing the world around me is my motivation to pursue this art form.
