In
"Artists in the Virtual World" Jeffrey Lipsky will demonstrate
how he is using the online virtual world of "Second Life" to
address the challenges of making a living in a tough economic climate
while making a real splash in the art scene. The first day's demonstration
will incorporate a live interactive presentation and tour of the vast
network of art galleries, museums and artists that exist online in the
3D interactive virtual world and marketplace.
Part two of the seminar will meet Thursday evening. It is a hands-on
workshop for artists to actually see the work that goes on behind the
scenes of exhibiting, promoting and selling art in the virtual world of
Seocnd Life. This workshop is also a great chance for artists to come
together to discuss the implications of doing business online and digitizing
their work. Artists are encouraged to bring two pieces of artwork to be
converted into a digital picture that will be installed into an exhibition
at the online arts community of Artropolis in Second Life.
This two day seminar targets local artists and creative people who want
to learn how to harness the power of online virtual worlds to reach new
audiences and marketplaces. The first day's presentation will be a 2 hour
immersive demonstration and Q & A of the online art world of Second
Life. Participants from the first day will have the opportunity to sign
up for "part two" hands-on workshop that will actually get their
artworks into the virtual world for exhibit and promotions.
Everycommunity has artists and creative people looking to expand their
audience and help increase sales. This seminar opens up a whole new world
to artists because it shows them that there is an international mix of
art enthusiasts, collectors, curators, and peers who are logged into Second
Life® and looking for interesting art. This seminar is free, fun,
and intriguing.
