Former Red Sox great, Bernie Carbo, Visits Chelmsford
June 20, 2013
7 – 9 p.m.
Former Red Sox player Bernie Carbo presents a short film with comments on legendary Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. In 2011 Game 6 was chosen by the Major League Baseball Channel as the greatest baseball game ever played.
The presentation of Game 6 will be followed by a discussion and book signing by Bernie Carbo and Dr. Peter Hantzis of their heralded new book “Saving Bernie Carbo.” The book is not your typical sports book. In addition to baseball stories the book includes detailed accounts of Bernie’s struggles with addiction and mental illness, and his conversion to Christianity from atheism. His courageous openness gives hope to others and increases awareness of these difficult issues. Dr. Hantzis, a psychologist and Chelmsford resident, provides educational comments on Bernie’s mental health and substance abuse history.
This program is free and open to the public.
