Learn CALLIGRAPHY, the ancient art of beautiful writing, while practicing with simple easy steps and demos. Calligraphic strokes, letters, fonts and designs will be covered in this workshop. After learning the Calligraphy fonts/styles, you will be making your own invitations, greeting cards or poster. Use your imagination and the results are limitless. Materials will be provided for those who register in advance. Bring along a smock or a large T-shirt. There is no fee for this workshop.

Artist Bio:
Dimple Shah has been an artist from a very young age. Her mother enrolled her in drawing classes when she was only 6 years old. She drew and painted whenever she had a chance. She continued art lessons all the way through college. She studied art at Sophia's College in India where she studied Foundation Art and Applied Arts and received her diploma. Dimple received many awards in college for her talent in Calligraphy and Sketching. While in India she also learned computer grahics.

After coming to the U.S. in 2002, Dimple studied Business Finance and MIS at UMass, Lowell. She worked in the finance industry from 2004 till 2007. but left to become a Private Art Tutor for all ages. She continues to work as an Art Tutor. Dimple teaches Drawing and Sketching, Calligraphy, Watercolors, Acrylics, Henna/Mehndi Tatoo making and Indian Folk art Madhubani and Warli Painting. She also teaches imagination and creativity classes to young children. She paints murals and has volunteered as an Art Teacher for Pre-K and special needs children. Recent exhibitions include ArtMart, Epicenter, Gurgoan, India (2009) and Summer Place in Chelmsford, MA.
