New History Book Group

Do you have an interest in history? Consider attending our newest book group.

Library volunteer Bob Hanlon will be leading a new book group on the last Thursday of each month (unless otherwise stated) at 7 p.m. in the conference room. This group is for people with an interest in history –local, U.S. and world history. The following titles have been chosen by the participants. If you are interested in taking part in future discussions please ask for copies of the books at the library's front desk.

This book group meets the last Thursday of the month from 7 – 8:45 p.m. unless otherwise stated.

May 28th - "The Middlesex Canal" by Mary Stetson Clarke

June 25th – "The Dark Tide: The Great Molasses Flood of 1919" by Stephan Puleo

July 30th -- "With Wings like Eagles: A History of the Battle of Britain" by Michael Korda

August 27th -- "The Woman behind the New Deal" by Kistern Downey

September 24th --- "Fallen Founder: The Life of Aaron Burr" by Nancy Isenberg

October 29th --- "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Part I, Chapters 1 -11)

November 19th – "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Part II, Chapters 12 – 26)

December 17th --- "I Wish I’d Been There" by Bryon Hollingshead
