Marjorie B. Scoboria Friday Morning Lecture Series

Our lecture series has been renamed to honor Marjorie B. Scoboria, a longtime resident of Chelmsford. Ms. Scoboria was born in Chelmsford in 1906. She graduated from Wellesley College and received a Master's Degree from Radcliffe College. Ms. Scoboria taught Mathematics in Swanton, VT, Amesbury, and Tewksbury, and was Head of the Mathematics Department at Chelmsford High School. She was an active member of the community as Chairman of the Board of Library Trustees in Chelmsford, member of the Chelmsford Historical Society, Chelmsford Conservation Commission and a Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of the National Education Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association, Chelmsford Teachers Association, Wellesley Congregational Church, Appalachian Mountain Club and Wellesley College Alumnae Association.
Ms Scoboria was a strong advocate and supporter of the library, and a generous bequest through her estate enables us to offer programs that are consistent with her vision for the library and community.
