Double your pleasure; double your fun! Reading pleasure and fun, that is.
This
year we will be reading books by the famous literary couple, Pulitzer-prize
winning authors Geraldine
Brooks and Tony Horwitz for our One Book campaign.
Both authors will be coming to Chelmsford on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at
11 a.m. to talk about their newest titles, Geraldine's "Caleb's Crossing"
and Tony's "Midnight Rising: John Brown and the Raid That Sparked the
Civil War."
Our programming will be related to books by both authors, with a particular focus on "March” by Geraldine Brooks and “Confederates in the Attic” by Tony Horwitz. Both "March” and “Confederates in the Attic" have Civil War themes. A donation from Stop and Shop and funding from the Chelmsford Friends of the Library made it possible for us to purchase multiple copies of “March” and “Confederates in the Attic” for our community. We encourage Chelmsford to read these 2 books (and then jump into some of the other great books these authors have written).
