![]() Rivers
and the People who Care for Them Thurs. March 1, 2007 at the Library at 7 p.m. In
any mill town the river that powers the mills is essential to the lifeblood
of the residents and the economy. The Library will host a forum on river
conservation with biologist Steve Landry and Michele Tremblay, principal,
naturesource communications. Steve has served on the Upper Merrimack River
Local Advisory Committee since 1995, for the past four years as vice chair.
Steve satisfies his passion for aquatic macroinvertebrates and discovering
illicit discharges as Sampling Supervisor for the Upper Merrimack Monitoring
Program. Michele has served as a representative to the Upper Merrimack
River Local Advisory Committee since its inception in 1990 and for over
ten years has served as its chair. She is also the program director for
the Upper Merrimack Monitoring Program. In 2003, she received a National
River Hero award. She was also named the first NH River Conservationist
in 1998. Steve and Michele both coordinate a wildly successful ‘Bug
Nights’ program that has achieved a form of twisted cult status
in New Hampshire as it enters an eleventh season. Click here to print off a flyer and share with your friends Federally funded with
LSTA funds through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners |
