Wide Wednesdays@Chelmsford presents:
Wildest Dreams
Wildest Dreams members hail from South America, the Caribbean, Japan, and the US, melding their diverse music and cultural experience into a dynamically fresh sound. The group has created an exciting world beat style featuring powerful vocals, contagious rhythms, and a message of harmony that blends elements of Afro-pop, reggae, calypso, and funky soul. Fronted by the spirited vocals of Alice Johnson (described by the late maestro Leonard Bernstein as “Superb!”), Boston-based Wildest Dreams has performed at festivals, theatres, clubs, college, and special events throughout the Northeastern U.S. since 1989. The Band’s first CD, “One Voice!,” garnered excellent reviews , airplay throughout New England and a concert tour of Aruba. Their latest CD is a musical journey entitled “Peace Planet." Featuring soaring harmonies, compelling rhythms, and imaginative arrangements, it continues their passion for blending together music from different cultures. After 15 years and 800 shows, Wildest Dreams has earned their reputation for extremely dynamic performances and an undeniable spirit, that easily cuts across generational and cultural divides. The concert will be held outdoors at MacKay Library, 43 Newfield St., Chelmsford, MA, beginning at 6:30 PM. In case of rain or threat of rain the concert will be moved to the Chelmsford Senior Center, 75 Groton Rd., North Chelmsford. The program is free and open to the public.
