Taste of the South - an evening of words, wine and food
at the Chelmsford Library.
This unique community social is the kick-off for Chelmsford's WinterFest 2008.
Tickets should be purchased in advance at the library or town manager's office.
Suggested donation $15.
8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Central Co-Op Nursery School Pancake Breakfast
and Silent Auction at the Central Congregational Church at 1 Worthen
Street. Come one and all for great pancakes, eggs, bacon and lots more!!!!
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Outdoor Activities at Roberts Field:
Ice Skating, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and hot refreshments sponsored
by Boy Scout Troop 77.
9am-2pm "Easy to be Green" at First Parish Church: Sr.
Girl Scout Troop 906 will host live music from the WinterFest's own Chameleons
and Folk Singer Jonathan Slate. Hot soup, sandwich and special snacks as well
as recycling demonstrations of what treasures can be found in plastic bags and
juice boxes, face painting, and a visit from local story teller, Bonnie Rankin
will also be found. A perfect stop where something can be found for everyone!
2 p.m. Saturday, February 2nd, Jonathan Slate will be performing a Family
Concert at the MacKay Library, 43 Newfield St. North Chelmsford. Free
and open to the public. Funded by the Chelmsford Friends of the Library. Call

11 a.m. -4 p.m. Photo Exhibit at Old Town Hall: View the entries
to the Cultural Council’s annual Winterfest photo contest at Old Town

11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Pink Ladies Malt Shoppe at Old Town Hall –
Relive happy days as the Girl Scouts transform the Old Town Hall into an old
fashioned fifties-style Malt Shoppe.
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Outdoor Activities at Varney Playground: Snow
Painting, Lollipop Dig and Sledding for all ages including a Toddler Sledding
Hill Sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Varney Playground and the VPRC, Inc.
2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Chowder Fest at the Senior Center. Enjoy
the delicious hot chowders and the warm musical sounds of the “Come Back
Kids.”
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Outdoor Activities at Roberts Field:
Ice Skating, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing at Roberts Field. Boy Scout Troop
77 will be serving up hot refreshments.
12 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Snow Shoeing at the Lime Quarry: Sponsored
by the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship. The Lime Quarry Snow Shoe trail is
1.5 miles long and designed for the sport (lots of ups and downs). Bring your
own Snow Shoes and a smile. If no snow, we will offer a winter walk at the site.

3:30 p.m. Winter Walk The Chelmsford Land Conservation Trust
will be sponsoring a Winter Walk on Sunday, February 3, at the Archer Meadowbrook
Reservation at the dead end on Fenwick Drive (off Route 4). At the end of the
walk there will be a bonfire and s'mores at Skunk Island
