The Joys and Pitfalls of Social Networking

This program was given in November, 2006

The information and links below are still available, but please contact us if you are interested in scheduling an updated program for your group.

Library staff will present a special informational program for parents on “social software” – things like MySpace, YouTube, FaceBook, Flickr, and Instant Messaging (IM) on Thursday, Nov. 30th, 2006, at 7 p.m in the McCarthy Meeting Room.

Hear from our Teen Services librarian Roberta Barricelli, Library director Becky Herrmann and head of Reference Brian Herzog as they answer questions like “What is my child doing on Myspace?” They will talk about what is "out there" - the good, the bad and the ugly- and how parents can help their children learn to use the Internet safely.
