Books for Preschoolers on Wednesday, February 24

We got wild in storytime this morning with books about alligators and crocodiles.

Image of itemThe big wide-mouthed frog swaggers around asking other animals what they like to eat, but when he meets a crocodile, he doesn’t like the crocodile’s answer!

Image of itemThis book starts off as the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Ugly Duckling, but when a crocodile finds his way into the story and wreaks havoc on the characters, it’s up to the reader to figure out how to get rid of him.
Image of itemWhen the alligator crept up the stairs of the house, were the children scared? You bet they were! But they pluck up their courage until finally, it’s the alligator’s turn to feel afraid.
Image of itemEveryone knows that crocodiles love to swim, but this crocodile is a little different. No matter how hard he tries, he just can’t bring himself to enjoy the water. When attempt at swimming causes a great big sneeze, could it be that this little crocodile isn’t a crocodile at all?
Next Wednesday’s storytimes will be a little bit different as we celebrate the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss! March 2 has been named Read Across America Day in honor of his life and work, and we will be celebrating with silly stories and birthday cake.
