Go for a StoryWalk at Sunny Meadow

Sheep take a HikeThe Library has partnered with the Chelmsford Open Space Stewards to create a “StoryWalk” along a trail at the Sunny Meadow Community Garden.

The entire story of Sheep take a Hike, by Nancy Shaw and illustrated by Margot Apple, has been laminated and placed on sign posts along the trail, so kids and adults alike can read the story as they hike the trail.

The story follows a group of sheep taking a nature hike – which is a perfect summertime story. The StoryWalk will be changed periodically throughout the year, to match the season. Taking the StoryWalk is a fun way to enjoy the story and get a little exercise.

If you can, come join library staff and COSS volunteers for the StoryWalk ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, July 27th, at 9:00 am. Even if you can’t make it then, please enjoy StoryWalk all year round!

Thank you for the Friends of the Library for funding our StoryWalk project, and to the COSS volunteers for their work in the field. Also, thanks to Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, for coming up with the original StoryWalk idea!

This StoryWalk is located at Sunny Meadow Community Garden, at the end of Robin Hill Road near Route 27/Kate’s Corner in South Chelmsford.
