Immigration is all over the news these days, and it got me to thinking about 2 great teen books I recently read featuring immigration stories (recommended for high schoolers)

Americanized: Rebel without a green card by Sara Saedi

This is a nonfiction memoir about the author’s experience growing up as an undocumented immigrant in the United States. Very warm and funny, & a very quick read!

The sun is also a star by Nicola Yoon

This is a fictional story about two teens, Natasha and Daniel, who meet in New York City (no spoilers, I promise). Both characters have immigration stories in their backgrounds, and I highly recommend the audiobook (that’s how I “read” it )
