Each week during this Toddler Storytime, we sing some versions of the rhyme, “Two Little Blackbirds.” There are so many different verses to this rhyme and it’s easy to make up your own with different opposite rhyming words. Today everyone was offered the opportunity to take home some birds on a piece of paper to color and make their own “two little blackbirds.” Here are some versions of the song. If you make up your own, please share it with us!
Two little blackbirds sitting on a hill.
One named Jack and one named Jill.
Fly away Jack and fly away Jill.
Come back Jack and come back Jill.
Two little blackbirds sitting on a cloud.
One named Soft and one named Loud.
Fly away Soft and fly away Loud.
Come back Soft and come back Loud.
We also read the book Chicken, Chicken, Duck by Nadia Krilanovich. If you feel like “quacking,” this is the book for you!
