Sign up and receive a summer reading log. Registration begins on Saturday, June 3. Come get your reading log, a bookmark, and a fun sign-up prize in the Children’s Room.
Record the time you spend reading. Mark a circle on your log for every 15 minutes of reading you do. Your log will be full after 12.5 hours. Your first completed log earns you a coupon for Davis Farmland, redeemable for a free child admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. You can also pick up more reading logs. Each log you turn in by September 2 earns you a raffle ticket for one of our prize jars. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! Download additional logs to print from home here.
Listening counts. No one is too young to participate in Summer Reading! Caregivers can record the time spent reading to children. If one child reads to another child, the time counts for both. Listening to audio books counts as well.
Read what you enjoy. Chelmsford Public Schools have no required books for children entering grades K-4. You can read anything you want, including books, magazines, comics, and graphic novels.
Help us build a better world. The Chelmsford Friends of the Library will make a charitable donation to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell if children turn in 800 reading logs (10,000 hours of reading!) by September 2.
Funding for Summer Reading logs, prizes, program materials, and performers is generously provided by the Chelmsford Friends of the Library.
