Anglophiles Rejoice: the BBC BingePass is here!
British movies and television can be a divisive issue. British comedy, mystery, drama, and period pieces have haters as much as superfans. There is rarely a middle ground. Is it the accent? The charming awkwardness? The old architecture? Cars on the other side of the road?
If you're not a fan, forgive us, but this post is not for you. Please read elsewhere.
For fans, clear a few days on your calendar, because the BBC BingePass is now available on Hoopla!
Put the kettle on, grab your biscuits and/or crisps, and settle in for a full week of unlimited streaming of great BBC movies and shows, including:
- A Young Doctor's Notebook
- Call the Midwife - six seasons plus five Christmas specials!
- Father Brown - five seasons
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
- Intruders
- Last Tango in Halifax
- Ripper Street - five seasons
...and more. In total, there are 296 shows and movies, and the Hoopla BingePass lets you watch as much as you want (or can!) for a full week, for a single borrow.
Your library card gets you five borrows per month, but the BingePass gets you all kinds of media for a week for the same "price" as borrowing a single e-book. And the BBC Collection is far from the only collection of British media. Use a SeasonPass and watch an entire season of The Office, Silent Witness, Midsomer Murders, Doctor Who, Absolutely Fabulous, and more.

There's even a Gardening With Monty Don BingePass including Big Dreams Small Spaces, My Dream Farm, The Secret History of the British Garden, and ten seasons of Gardeners' World.
Of course, there's plenty of video from outside the United Kingdom. Find kids' content for fun and education, adult education with The Great Courses, feelgood Hallmark movies, Ken Burns documentaries, opera from Medici.tv, The French Chef with Julia Child, classes on crafts and music, and more.
Download the Hoopla app for your mobile device or go to HooplaDigital.com and sign in with your library card, and contact the library anytime if you need help getting started.
