Beat the Urge to Hibernate with CreativeBug
January 13, 2026 T. Bowser
It's January! For most of us, that means time to stay inside, put on many layers, and do....nothing. But you can turn the inside time into creative time with CreativeBug! First, you can print, fold, and create your own Creative Idea Generator Dice. Get inspired with this wonderfully analog random idea maker. Instructions are included.
As a few of you know, there are new crafting classes added every month on CreativeBug, from seasonal themes to classic techniques to something out of the ordinary. Here are some of the newest additions just released and coming up in January:

Available Now:
Collage allows us to make something beautiful out of whatever is around. Old magazines or newspapers, junk mail, and other throwaway papers can have a second life with a little glue or tape, a pair of scissors, and other basic tools. Erin Wheeler will show you how to thoughtfully create collages on a 4"x4" scale, and to conceive and create a larger work out of a series of smaller collage "sketches."

Premiering January 14:
Jumpsuits are an easy-wearing, stylish staple in any wardrobe. Sanae Ishida will show you how to create your own signature version of the garment building on her pattern drafting techniques.

Premiering January 21:
Relax into creating and breathe through every stitch as you create your own cozy mat that you can size for mindful meditation or your regular yoga practice. Make one for your furry friend, too!

Premiering January 28:
Another craft where less is more, join Faith Hale and turn your odds and ends of fabric into fun and functional quilted coasters. Protect your own furniture or make delightful gifts from easy, intuitive designs.
