LGBTQIA+ Pride Month Display
Happy pride! As we know, the United States dedicates the month of June to the celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trangender, and queer (LGBTQ or LGBTQIA+) culture and community. This particular month was chosen as it coincides with the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots, which were a series of riots and demonstrations which marked a new beginning for the gay rights movement.
To commemorate Pride, each year the Chelmsford Public Library puts together a prominent display and readers' advisory materials. We want everyone to feel represented and included in our collection. To emphasize this, we have collected a selection of books from different genres to showcase here. We hope that this list helps someone find themselves in a book.
