Volunteer to Help with Children’s Programs!

Apply to volunteer and help run our children’s programs!  In order to volunteer, you must fill out the Children’s Room Volunteer Application and attend a mandatory training session. Volunteers must be in 7th grade to apply.

Training sessions for Children’s Room volunteers are held on the first Thursday of every month at 4:00 PM in the Children’s Room at the Main Library. Register for them by visiting the calendar, or email Sara at sdempster@chelmsfordlibrary.org.

Volunteer opportunities will be posted monthly on the teen page of the website.

Apply to be a Volunteer Shelf Reader!

Shelf reading is a detail-oriented task. It is your job to make sure the books are in order on the shelves, alphabetically and numerically. Volunteers are needed in five areas: Children’s Room, Teen Area, Nonfiction, Fiction, and the MacKay branch library. In order to volunteer, you must fill out the Volunteer Shelf Reader Application and attend a mandatory training session. Volunteers must be in 7th grade to apply.

Training sessions for volunteer shelf readers are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 4:00 PM in the reference section of the Main Library. Register for them by visiting the calendar, or email Sara at sdempster@chelmsfordlibrary.org.

Openings for shelf readers will be posted monthly on the teen page of the website.

Help out at the Friends of the Library Book Drops. They need help unloading and organizing books!
