Volunteer to Help with Children’s Programs!

Apply to volunteer and help run our children’s programs!  Children’s volunteers must have a positive, welcoming attitude and be ready to bring energy and creativity to our children’s programs. In order to volunteer, you must fill out the Children’s Room Volunteer Application and attend a mandatory training session. Volunteers must be in 7th grade to apply.

Training sessions for Children’s Room volunteers are held on the first Thursday of every month at 4:00 PM in the Children’s Room at the Main Library. Register for them by visiting the calendar, or email Sara at sdempster@chelmsfordlibrary.org.

Volunteer opportunities will be posted monthly on the teen page of the website.

Apply to be a Volunteer Shelf Reader!

Shelf reading is a detail-oriented task. It is your job to make sure the books are in order on the shelves, alphabetically and numerically. Volunteers are needed in four areas: Children’s Room, Teen Area, Nonfiction, and Fiction. In order to volunteer, you must fill out the Volunteer Shelf Reader Application and attend a mandatory training session. Volunteers must be in 7th grade to apply.

Training sessions for volunteer shelf readers are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 4:00 PM in the reference section of the Main Library. Register by visiting the calendar.
