Town of Chelmsford Council on Aging/Senior Center

The Chelmsford Senior Center is located at 75 Groton Road, North Chelmsford and is open to senior citizens, 60 years and over, from Chelmsford and area communities. For more information on their programs and services, call (978) 251-0533. The Chelmsford Council on Aging also puts out this free Resource Guide!

Local Senior Support Organizations

  • Age Friendly Chelmsford – A new initiative to enable people of all ages to actively participate in the community. Coordinated by the Council on Aging and other town departments, including the library.
  • AgeSpan: Formerly Elder Services of Merrimack Valley and North Shore. A private non-profit agency serving elders and disabled adults who reside in Northeast Massachusetts. Their mission is to support an individual’s desire to make their own decisions, secure their independence, and remain living in the community safely.
  • Chelmsford Veterans Agent – The Chelmsford Veterans Services office administers a state/town public assistances program under Chapter 115. We provide short term, temporary, and financial assistance to eligible veterans and their families. We assist eligible veterans using a monthly grant and some medical coverage. Their website also includes links to other important services for veterans.
  • Massachusetts American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) – AARP’s mission is to empower people to choose how they live as they age. Offers information on insurance, housing, benefits, travel and more.
