Friends of the Library Book Sale

Description: The annual Friends’ book sale has been going on as long as anyone can remember, and regularly raises $20,000+ to support library programming and resources. Donations of books and other items, countless volunteer hours in sorting and setup, and of course coming to the book sale to shop make this possible – Thank you for your support!

2023 Fall Book Sale
Held at the Town Offices Gym, 50 Billerica Rd
Friday, October 13, 9:00 am to 7:30 pm
Saturday, October 14, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday, October 15, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Where: The gym in the Town Offices building, 50 Billerica Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824. Parking is free in the municipal lots behind the Town Office building.

Pricing: Most books are individually priced (located inside the front cover) between $1-$5. Paperbacks are $1, CDs & DVDs are $1 each, audio books are $2 each. Usually, but not always, the last portion of the sale on Sunday will be a “fill a box for $5” sale. Special dealer checkout tables are available for large-volume buying. Cash, check, and credit card accepted.

Volunteering: Lots of help is required to make this book sale happen. Volunteers are needed throughout the year for book-drops and sorting donations, and around the sale to setup, work the sale itself, and clean up afterward. To get involved, join the Friends!

A Book Sale Everyday: And don’t forget, there is always a Friends’ Book Sale Cart in the Main Library near the Front Desk. This cart features items hand-selected by book sale volunteers, including bestsellers, general fiction, children’s books, audio books, and more.
