Friends in grades K-12, we hope you will enter our first ever Silly Story Contest here at the Chelmsford Public Library! Pick up a cover sheet at the Children’s Desk, and drop your story in our Silly Story Box! Stories are due on April 1st, and winners will be announced at our Silly Story Celebration on Saturday, April 20th!

Rules and Guidelines for Submissions:

Please attach a cover sheet to your silly story – available at the Children’s Desk!

• Stories may not exceed 2500 words (about 5 typed pages)
• Stories submitted after April 1st will not be eligible to win or place in the contest
• Authors must be in grades K-12
• One entry per author
• Stories must have a beginning, a middle, and an end Illustrations are permitted but not required
• Stories should be silly and/or funny
• Stories should be typed or neatly written
• Adults can help with typing/neatness, but all other aspects of the story (plot, word choice, sentence structure) should be the work of the child entering the contest
